We are proud to unveil INTERACT 2025.2, packed with powerful new features to elevate your industrial simulation experience. This update brings cutting-edge physics simulation improvements and a refreshed user interface, making your workflows smoother, more intuitive, and more realistic than ever.

Here’s what’s new:

Next-Level Physics with Continuous Collision Detection (CCD) and Broadphase

Say goodbye to frustrating physics glitches! Our physics engine, powered by XDE 25.03.04, now includes Continuous Collision Detection (CCD) and Broadphase collision detection, thanks to our research partner CEA.

  • CCD ensures fast-moving objects collide accurately, eliminating "tunneling" where parts pass through each other unnaturally.

  • Broadphase optimizes performance by intelligently filtering collision checks, making complex scenes with hundreds of objects (think tools, machines, and cables) run smoothly and efficiently.

These advancements mean faster, more reliable simulations, so you can focus on designing, training, or validating without wrestling with physics settings. For more information, please read this technical article: https://www.ls-group.fr/post/why-ccd-and-broadphase-are-game-changers-for-interact

Revamped User Interface with Custom Hierarchy

We’ve given the INTERACT editor a fresh look and feel! With Custom Hierarchy Icons: Navigate your projects more easily with new icons for hierarchy and key components, improving clarity and workflow efficiency. Quickly identify object types such as point clouds, rigid bodies, cables, scenario components and so on.

More Exciting Updates

  • Enhanced Ergonomics: The Puppet Look-at target is now grabbable with virtual hands, making VR interactions more intuitive.

  • Cable Improvements: option to disable weight on cables.

  • Physics Tuning: Slight damping and friction are now applied to joints during physicalization, with full user control to edit or remove them.

  • Streamlined Feedback: New links to user feedback questionnaires for Swept Volume and Puppet features make it easier to share your thoughts and help shape future updates.

  • Post installation checks to confirm compatibility with supported Unity render pipelines.

  • Bug Fixes: We’ve squashed bugs related to undo operations, global velocity monitoring, and helical joint friction, ensuring a more stable experience.

Your voice matters

We’ve also added links in the INTERACT editor to user feedback questionnaires for two key features: Swept Volume and Ergonomics Puppet. These components are our next priority in the roadmap, and your input is crucial! By filling out these forms, you’ll provide valuable feedback to help us refine and improve these features, ensuring they meet your needs. Access the questionnaires here:

We’d love to hear how these features are impacting your projects! Share your feedback, success stories, or suggestions!
