The purpose of this first step is to identify your needs and those of your users. By conducting interviews and on-site observations, we seek to understand your environment and the one of your future users: Who are they? What are their objectives? How do they currently achieve them? What are their problems?

This will help us to identify the priority areas of improvement and the assessment criteria of the solution to be designed (KPI): How will the future solution allow users and yourself to reach your objectives more easily? What will be its essential qualities (portability, speed of use, precision, wow effect ...)?

These criteria will be used as tools to evaluate our future proposals and to compare with the current solution.

STEP 1 :  User background analysis

Deliverable: A background and user UX analysis report may contain:

  • An audit of the existing solution

  • Persona (user profiles and needs)

  • The current user journey (or empathy map) with the problem areas

  • Prioritized assessment criteria of the future solution (KPIs)

During this step, we usually start by benchmarking existing technologies, interaction modes or applications with similar use cases to yours. Based on this benchmark, we look for possible customized solutions that meet the problems identified during the analysis phase.

Each course of action is analyzed with regard to the assessment criteria (KPI) previously defined. Thus, together we select one or two relevant solutions.

Then LS GROUP will recommend the most suitable solution according to your needs, your available technologies, and your objectives in terms of use.

STEP 2 :  Search for solutions

Deliverables:

  • A benchmark (Miro, pptx, bibliographies, etc.)

  • The description of the courses of action considered and their evaluation regarding the KPIs

  • Recommendation of an action plan by LS GROUP

SPECIFIC CASE: For innovative solutions, a description of the POC to be carried out and its costing will be made to validate a course of action from a technical and UX (User Experience) point of view. You will have the choice to do it or not.

But what is a POC?

A POC – Proof of concept – is an application prototype validating a technical feasibility. This means validating that a feature fits well in the application, that a button is useful, etc. A POC is a low fidelity application with a certain number of features of the final application and with a very simplified user interface. A call to our development team is necessary: that's why it requires a separate costing of the package.

This step helps us to define together during a co-design workshop between us, your project team, and your users:

  • Features and their business value: What can the solution do? What uses will users have of the solution?

  • The user journey with the help of validation mock-ups (if necessary): How will a user achieve his main goal in the fastest and easiest way?

STEP 3 :  Definition of the macro feature and the user journey of the chosen solution

Deliverable: Definition of the features of the user journey (macro) which can contain:

  • List of features

  • User journey

  • Explanatory diagrams and/or wireframes (low fidelity mock-ups)

  • If eligible: An analysis of the technical POC achieved
